Abstract
Abstract Polymers bearing heparin residues in bioactive form may be used in blood-contacting devices and as affinity chromatography agents. The polymers are produced by (a) polymerising heparin-bearing vinyl, acrylate, acrylamide or acrylonitrile monomers, (b) free-radical polymerisation of monomers in the presence of heparin or (c) grafting heparin to polymers via amino-group containing side chains.
