Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 13
Claim 1
Independent Claim 53 words
A method for treating an eye condition which comprises: implanting at least one of the anterior or posterior chamber of an eye at least one microencapsulated drug as particles of not greater than about 300 micrometers, said particles comprising said drug and a pharmacologically acceptable biodegradable polymer which is degraded in the eye.
Claim 2
Independent Claim 53 words
A method for treating an eye condition which comprises: implanting at least one of the anterior or posterior chamber of an eye at least one microencapsulated drug as particles of not greater than about 300 micrometers, said particles comprising said drug and a pharmacologically acceptable biodegradable polymer which is degraded in the eye.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 13 words
A method according to claim 1, wherein said polymer is a condensation polymer.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 12 words
A method according to claim 2, wherein said polymer is a polyester.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 15 words
A method according to claim 3, wherein said polyester comprises an hydroxyaliphatic carboxylic acid monomer.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 14 words
A method according to claim 4, wherein said hydroxyaliphatic carboxylic acid is lactic acid.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 15 words
A method according to claim 1, wherein said particle comprises a pharmacologically acceptable buffering agent.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 13 words
A method according to claim 1, wherein said drug is a cytotoxic agent.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 16 words
A method according to claim 1, wherein said steroid is hydrocortisone or a pharmacologically acceptable ester.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 12 words
A method according to claim 7, wherein said cytotoxic agent is methotrexate.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 25 words
A method according to claim 1, wherein an effective dosage for treatment of said condition is maintained in said chamber for at least one month.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 22 words
A method according to claim 10, wherein said particle is of an average size in the range of 10 to 250 micrometers.
Claim 13
