Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 18
Claim 1
Independent Claim 109 words
A vasoocclusive device comprising: (a) a helical coil for occluding blood flow having a multiplicity of windings extending between a first end and a second end, said helical coil being from 2 to 100 cm in length and from 0.05 to 0.2 cm in diameter; and (b) at least one fibrous element having a first end and a second end, with the portion of the element intermediate said ends extending axially along the coil in a generally serpentine configuration composed of a plurality of loops having maxima that extend radially outwardly and minima that extend radially inwardly and are threaded about individual windings at spaced intervals along the coil.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 109 words
A vasoocclusive device comprising: (a) a helical coil for occluding blood flow having a multiplicity of windings extending between a first end and a second end, said helical coil being from 2 to 100 cm in length and from 0.05 to 0.2 cm in diameter; and (b) at least one fibrous element having a first end and a second end, with the portion of the element intermediate said ends extending axially along the coil in a generally serpentine configuration composed of a plurality of loops having maxima that extend radially outwardly and minima that extend radially inwardly and are threaded about individual windings at spaced intervals along the coil.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 32 words
The device of claim 1 wherein the fibrous element is attached to the proximal end of the helical coil and extends over about 10% to 90% of the length of the coil.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 13 words
The device of claim 1 wherein there are a multiplicity of fibrous elements.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 13 words
The device of claim 1 wherein there are 1 to 4 fibrous elements.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 15 words
The device of claim 1 wherein the fibrous element is a bundle of individual fibers.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 12 words
The device of claim 1 wherein the fibrous element is a monofilament.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 17 words
The device of claim 1 wherein the length of an individual loop is 0.1 to 2 cm.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 17 words
The device of claim 1 wherein said spaced interval is about 0.05 to 1 cm in length.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 17 words
The device of claim 7 wherein said spaced interval is about 0.05 to 1 cm in length.
Claim 11
