Abstract
Abstract A porous mineral support such as a porous mineral oxide coated with an aminated polysaccharide polymer has cationic characteristics and is capable of reversibly fixing thereto biological macromolecules. This material is employed in the separation and purification of said biologic maromolecules.

Claim 1
Independent Claim
86 words
A method for purifying or separating biologic macromolecules using a particulate material comprising a plurality of porous mineral support particles impregnated with and containing a sufficient amount of an aminated polysaccharide polymer so as to permit reversibly fixing said biologic macromolecules therewith, said method comprising contacting said particulate material with a solution containing said biologic macromolecules and regulating the pH and the molarity of said solution so that the said particulate material fixes selectively either the said biologic macromolecules or undesired impurities contained in said solution.
