Abstract
Abstract A carbohydrate bonded support for use in a chromatographic system, and a method for preparation of such a support is disclosed herein. An inorganic support has a thin layer of carbohydrate or carbohydrate derivative covalently linked to the surface so that the thus formed support has excellent mechanical stability as well as the ability to avoid adsorbing or denaturing sensitive biological compounds, the carbohydrate bonded support thus combining the advantages of known supports without also incorporating the disadvantages thereof.
