Abstract A methylated, methylolated melamine composition having a certain combined formaldehyde content, a certain combined methanol content in the form of methoxymethyl groups, a certain -NH content and a certain content of a free methylol groups, the process of preparing the same and the use of such a melamine composition in admixture with other polymeric materials to provide coating compositions.
