Abstract
Abstract Silanized antimicrobial compounds are disclosed which are the reaction products of chlorinated phenols, bis-phenols, dihydric phenols, hydroxy diphenyl ethers and ortho or para hydroxybenzoic acids and their lower alkyl esters with an amino substituted silane having the general formula NH.sub.2 (CH.sub.2).sub.3 Si(R).sub.3 wherein R is methoxy, ethoxy or propoxy and n is 2, 3, or 4. The silane moiety is joined to the antimicrobial compound through the oxygen of a hydroxyl group of the starting compound.
