Abstract
Abstract An organ enclosure mantle comprises a flexible sac with a pocket-like membrane disposed therein and secured thereto along its top wall to form a closed chamber between the sac and membrane. The membrane includes an opening to permit an organ to be inserted therein. The membrane is made of a material which is expandable and heat exchangeable so that upon supplying a refrigerant to the chamber the membrane is caused to move into intimate contact with the organ and to maintain the organ at a cold temperature.
