Abstract METHYL-ALKOXY- OR METHYL-PHENOXY-SILYL DERIVATIVES OF TETRAMETHYL AMMONIUM BROMIDE, SILOXANE HOMO-CONDENSATES THEREOF AS WELL AS CO-CONDENSATES THEREOF WITH HYDROCARBYL-SILOXANES ARE PRODUCED BY REACTING THE CORRESPONDING DERIVATIVES OF METHYLBROMIDE WITH TRIMETHYLAMINE IN AN IMPROVED MANNER BY CARRYING OUT THE REACTION IN THE PRESENCE OF AN INERT POLAR SOLVENT HAVING A DIELECTRIC CONSTANT ABOVE 25 AT 20* C., AT A TEMPERATURE OF NOT MORE THAN 50* C.
