Abstract A CIRCUIT FOR DETECTING MAXIMUM AND MINIMUM POINTS OF AN INPUT SIGNAL IS SHOWN. THE INPUT SIGNAL IS TRACKED BY A TRACKING LOOP WHICH PROVIDES OUTPUT PULSES OF A POLARITY OR SENSE WHICH IN DICATES WHETHER THE INPUT SIGNAL IS INCREASING OR DECREASING. A BISTABLE CIRCUIT IS TRIGGERED BY THE OUTPUT PULSES WHICH REVERSE THE STATE OFTHE BISTABLE CIRCUIT WHEN THE OUTPUT PULSES INDICATE A REVERSAL OF THE SLOPE OF THE INPUT SIGNAL.
