Claim 1
Independent Claim
142 words
1 . An expandable device adapted for percutaneous delivery into a membrane of a patient's heart, the device comprising: first and second anchors adapted to contact, respectively, first and second surfaces of the membrane; and a stent having a longitudinal axis and being connected to the first and second anchors, the stent comprising an outer cylindrical body comprising a superelastic material and an inner cylindrical body comprising a first diameter and disposed within and connected to the outer cylindrical body and comprising a plastically deformable material, the stent being adapted to permit blood to flow across the membrane at a first rate; wherein the inner cylindrical body is stent-like and radially expandable to a second diameter greater than the first diameter so as to permit blood to flow across the membrane at a second rate that is different from the first rate.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim

2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the stent further comprises a cylindrical liner disposed within and attached to the inner cylindrical body.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
28 words
3 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the outer cylindrical body has hooks and the hooks connect the outer cylindrical body to the inner cylindrical body.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
16 words
4 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the plastically deformable material is stainless steel.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
14 words
5 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the superelastic material is nitinol.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
