Automatic tool replacing apparatus
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To enable the tool to be replaced during the rotation of a main shaft and shorten the tool replacing time, by enabling the key of the main shaft to be engaged with the key of the tool without stopping the main shaft, and without relative sliding contact of the key of the main shaft and the tool. CONSTITUTION: A tool inserting hole 11b is formed in the main shaft 11 supported by a main head body 20 of a main shaft head 10. A spring 23 which pulls a drawing rod 22 backward with respect to the main shaft 11 is enclosed in said hole 11b. These parts constitute a clamping device which clamps the tool T to the main shaft 11. An unclamping cylinder 24 is provided at the position facing the rear end of the drawing rod 22. The width of the key 35 is smaller than the width of the key way 36 so that the key 35 is readily engaged with the key way 36 in order to insert the tool T into the tool inserting hole 11a during the rotation of the main shaft 11. Thus the tool T can be replaced during the rotation of the main shaft 11, and the tool replacing time can be shortened. COPYRIGHT: (C)1982,JPO&Japio
