Improvements in the manufacture of woven fabrics
Abstract
Abstract 509,563. Woven fabrics. RICARD, L. Oct. 21, 1938, No. 30518. Convention date, Nov. 4, 1937. [Class 142 (iv)] Patterned effects on subsequent chemical or other treatment, weaving to produce.-A fabric is woven from two or more materials one of which can be destroyed by an agent which has no effect on the other materials. The fabric is treated with such an agent to produce a patterned effect on a ground which is full, solid, and opaque, and not merely a net work. The pattern and ground can afterwards be variously coloured in a single bath. As shown, the thread of the different materials (thick and thin), predominate on opposite faces of a double fabric, the faces being tied together only at every fourth cross-over.
