Abstract

Abstract 306,865. Dyrna, F. G. Nov. 25, 1927. Transmitting systems and apparatus; controlling and actuating vehicles.-Apparatus for measuring frequency or for actuating apparatus in accordance with frequency changes comprises two identical oscillatory circuits I, II simultaneously adjustable by a common tuning-member e.g. condensers C1, C2, which are so arranged that their frequencies differ by a constant amount which does not exceed the effective range of their similar resonance curves. The currents in the two circuits may operate a differential thermal ammeter having elements 3, 4, Fig. 3, or the differential coils of a moving-coil instrument after rectification (Fig. 4, not shown). In the case of an indicator the ammeter indicates resonance when each circuit is detuned by the same amount from the source. If, as shown, relay contacts are provided, these may control driving means for the condensers C1, C2 or for adjusting the frequency of the generator G to maintain this constant. Alternatively, the contacts may operate remote control mechanism e.g. for steering vehicles at a distance.
