Abstract 17,482. Peters, W. C. Aug. 20. Drawings to Specification. Locking bolts, nuts, studs, and screws.-For locking bolts, nuts, studs, screws, &c., part of the thread of either element of a screw pair is cut of a different pitch from the remainder. In the case of nuts one portion of the aperture may be slightly tapered, and the differential threads cut therein to a somewhat greater depth than the leading threads. The device is particularly applicable in permanent connexions as in railway fish-plates, chassis construction, and bridge work.
