Abstract
Abstract 1360771 Dispensing articles O A ERICKSON 15 Jan 1973 2055/73 Heading A4T [Also in Divisions A5 and D1] A suture-holder 10 comprises a block of resilient material having a plurality of abutments 17-21 defined by slits 22-25 which contain sutures 26-29. The resilient material may be sponge rubber, polyurethane foam or polyethylene foam. The depth L of the slits is greater than half the depth of the block and the sutures are stacked in the slits in vertically spaced relationship. The suture-holder 10 may also hold atraumatic needles N. The bottom of the block carries two pressure-sensitive adhesive strips 36, 38 near the ends and a similar strip 37 near the middle so that the block may be cut in half to form two blocks, each having two adhesive strips at the bottom for attaching the block to a table. In an alternative embodiment, a suture holder (40), Fig.3 (not shown), is a parallelogram in cross-section and has a face which makes an angle (A) of between 35 degrees and 75 degrees with the horizontal end slits which are parallel to the face.
