Energy production installation with free piston generator

Abstract

Abstract The installation comprises a free piston gas generator with a plurality of compressor compartments and drive cylinders 5, 6 and a power gas turbine 25 which receives the exhaust gases from the drive cylinders. The compressors 3a of a first division are fed with air by a rotary compressor 20 by way of a first air cooler 22 and supply hot compressed air which is partially sent to an auxiliary turbine 27, whilst the compressors 3n belonging to the second division are fed by the rotary compressor by way of a second cooler 23 and feed the drive cylinders by way of a third cooler 24. Means 40, 41 reheat the hot compressed air before it is sent to the turbine 27.
