Abstract
Abstract The closure for a laparectory incision comprises a curved needle in the shaft of which is held both free ends of the same thread. The thread passes through two 3 cms dia. washes which rest on either side of the incision. A small cylindrical element 2 or 3 cms. long fits into the loop of thread at each extremity and each rests on its respective washer. The closure permits access to the wound since it passes underneath it and can also loosened as required as the wound heals.
