Prosthesis for implanting in a breast to enlarge it - an inner filler materials filled envelope and outer envelope with a different fluid between the envelope
Abstract
Abstract The prosthesis comprises a closed inner envelope contg a first filler material (e.g physiological serum) and an outer envelope around the inner envelope, the space between the outer envelope and the inner envelope contg a second filler material (e.g. a silicone gel). The envelopes may be of silicone elastomer and may be 0.3 mm thick, and a synthetic strengthening net (e.g Dacron RTM) may be bonded to the outer face of the inner envelope and the inner face of the outer envelope. The filler may be introduced through a sealable aperture before transplanting or may be injected after transplanting. The difference in characteristics of the filler materials give the breasts a more natural appearance.
