Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim
73 words
Coupling agents for living macroanions of general formula where X is an organic radical of the following structures or a multivalent derivative thereof: n is a whole number between 2 and 6 and preferably 2, 3 or 4; R can be hydrogen, an alkyl radical preferably having a tertiary carbon atom directly attached to the aromatic ring, or a cycloalkyl, alkoxy, dialkylamino or aromatic radical, and containing from 0 to 18 carbon atoms.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Independent Claim
75 words
A method for the termination of living macroanions obtained by anionic polymerisation of diene and/or vinylaromatic monomers, consisting of introducing into the polymerisation mixture, either in a single addition or in partial additions at the required time, a coupling agent of general formula where X, n and R have the meaning given in the preceding claim, said termination corresponding to the coupling of two or more living macroanions in relation to the value of n.
Claim 4
Independent Claim
24 words
A method for the termination of living polymers as claimed in th 2 preceding claim, characterised by also operating in the absence of activators.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
24 words
A method for the termination of living polymers as claimed in claim 2, characterised by operating at a temperature of between 20° and 150°C.
Claim 6
Independent Claim
27 words
A method for the termination of living polymers as claimed in claims 2 and 4, characterised by operating preferably at a temperature of between 40° and 80°C.
