Abstract

Abstract A storing installation for carrying a number of helically extending turns of an endless conveyor belt (1), laid upon one another in a pile (2), where the various belt turns in the pile (2) are supported by one another, comprises two endless chains (12, 13) which are arranged under the belt pile (2), support the two edge portions (7, 8) of the belt (1) and are carried by supports (10, 11), said chains being each adapted, after the ingoing or outgoing lower part (4) of the conveyor belt (1), to follow the belt (1) in its rise throughout a complete revolution, whereupon it travels in a direction opposite to the rise of the conveyor belt (1) in a path beside said revolution so as to form the endless chain (12 and 13 respectively).

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim 177 words
Storing installation for carrying a number of helically extending turns of an endless conveyor belt (1), laid upon one another in a pile (2), where the various belt turns in the pile (2) are supported by one another especially be means of spacing members (6) arranged adjacent the belt edges, said storing installation comprising an endless conveyor unit (7, 8) which both carries and drives the pile (2) of helically extending conveyor belt turns, characterized in that the conveyor unit comprises preferably two endless chains (12, 13) which are arranged under the belt pile (2), support the two edge portions (7, 8) of the belt (1) and are carried by supports (10, 11), said chains being each adapted, after the ingoing or outgoing lower part (4) of the conveyor belt (1), to follow the belt (1) in its rise throughout at least one complete revolution, whereupon it travels in a direction opposite to the rise of the conveyor belt (1) in a path beside said revolution so as to form the endless chain (12 and 13 respectively).
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 177 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 30 words
Storing installation as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the links of at least one chain (12) are provided with teeth (15) or the like for driving engagement therewith.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 51 words
Storing installation as claimed in claim 2, characterized in that the links of one (13) of the chains (12, 13) supporting the conveyor belt (1) are provided on their upwardly facing sides with abutments (16) against which one edge of the con- veyol belt (1) is adapted to bear during piling.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 112 words
Storing installation as claimed in claim 3, characterized in that the chain (13) which supports the inner edge portion (8) of the belt pile (2) and the upwardly facing side of which is provided with the abutments (16), is adapted to support the belt pile (2) from the moment the ingoing part (4) of the belt (1) assumes curve shape until it has traveled a full revolution while the chain (12) supporting the outer edge portion (7) of the belt pile (2) is adapted to start supporting the belt pile (2) later than the first chain (13) and also cease to support the belt pile (2) later than the first chain (13).
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 28 words
Storing installation as claimed in claim 4, characterized in that the two chains (12, 13) are adapted to support the belt pile (2) simultaneously throughout a complete revolution.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 54 words
Storing installation as claimed in any of claims 1 - 5, characterized in that arranged between the chain (12; 13) supporting the conveyor belt (1) and the support (10; 11) therefor is at least one endless ball series (17; 18) adapted to facilitate displacement of the chain (12; 13) along the support (10; 11).
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 77 words
Storing installation as claimed in claim 6, characterized in that the chain (12; 13) which supports the conveyor belt (1) and is eccentrically loaded by the edge portion (7; 8) of the conveyor belt (1), cooperates with at least one other endless ball series (19; 20) which is so arranged between the chain (12; 13) and the support (10; 11) that lateral tipping of the chain (12; 13) will be prevented in spite of the eccentric load.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 111 words
Storing installation as claimed in claim 7, characterized in that the support (10; 11) includes two roll ways (21, 22) for the endless ball series (17, 19; 18, 20),one roll way (21), which faces the supported edge portion (7; 8) of the conveyor belt (1) in directed upwards and intended for the ball series (17; 18) facilitating displacement of the chain (12; 13) while the other roll way (22) which faces away from the conveyor belt (1), is directed downwards and intended for that ball series (19; 20) which prevents lateral tipping of the chain (12; 13) and against which a bottom flange (23; 24) of the chain (12; 13) bears.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 75 words
Storing installation as claimed in claim 7 or 8, characterized in that the links of the chain (12; 13) supporting the conveyor belt (1) are of generally U-shaped cross-section with upwardly facing web, opposite flanges (23, 25; 24, 26) being provided at the free ends of the legs so that the ball series (19; 20) preventing lateral tipping of the chain (12; 13) is adapted to bear on the inside of one flange (23; 24).
