Abstract 1. Implantable device for maintaining the vitality of osseous tissue adjoining a surface of a bone to which an endoprothesis is attached, comprising a coil (12) in which a low-frequency electrical AC voltage can be induced and at least two wire-shaped electrodes (18a, 18b, 18c, 18d) which are in electrical connection with the coil, characterized in that the wire-shaped electrodes (18a, 18b, 18c, 18d) are mounted spaced from each other by a thin flexible sheet structure (26) of electrically insulating material insertable between the surface of the bone (24) and the endoprothesis.
