Abstract
Abstract For operating a biopsy instrument (1, 2, 3, 4) the physician normally requires both hands. The device for single-handed operation of the instrument has a displaceably mounted sleeve (6) which is under the influence of a spring and is released by means of a trigger mechanism (15) and is thus pushed by the spring (10) forwards over the indentation (1a) of the mandrel (1). The physician thus has one hand free in order, for example, to hold the tissue to be examined. <IMAGE>
