Prosthesis for closing atrial or ventricular-septal defect - comprises two equally shaped units of elastic sprung material with six radially running arms spaced apart by equal edges
Abstract
Abstract On at least two opposing arms (111, 11'1, 11;4, 115) near the middle parts (12,12') connecting parts (13) are linked, which connecting parts (13) of the one six-armed unit are fixed in the middle to the opposing free end of a draw spring (14). In the catheter used for installing the prosthesis a steel cord is fed into a channel-type catheter guide with approximately circular cross-section by means of a ring. The steel cord is guided in two diametrically opposed channels of the catheter guide by means of rings. The steel cord at the end of the catheter guide is guided around the middle part (12 or 12') of one of the two six-armed units between two opposing intermediate spaces between two adjacent arms of one of the two six-armed units. USE/ADVANTAGE - In cardiac therapy, to close an atrial or ventricular-septal defect.
