Abstract

Abstract Catheter, for example for cardiac catheterisation, consisting of a tube of suitable material with a cap for closing the distal end of the catheter. The intention is to be able to use a catheter of this type in the organ to be treated for various purposes, with greatly improved controllability. This is achieved by designing the cap (2) to be axially displaceable with respect to the distal end of the catheter via suitable guide means (13, 14), for example in the form of at least one guide wire which runs in the axial direction of the catheter tube and is guided in the region of its periphery and can be actuated from the proximal end of the catheter, i.e. can be moved backwards and forwards in the axial direction of the catheter. <IMAGE>
