Abstract The invention describes a sphincter trainer formed on a multi-channel balloon-tipped catheter with an anodic electrode (7) and an electrical pulse generator (9), the electrode (7) being arranged on the outer circumference of the catheter shaft (6) at a site which lies in the region of the sphincter after introduction of the catheter into the bladder, a cathodic electrode (11) being fixable at any site on the patient's body. <IMAGE>
