Ring prosthesis for the mitral or tricuspid valve of the heart
Abstract
Abstract A ring prosthesis for sewing onto the ring of the mitral or tricuspid valve of the heart comprises a spring band (2) which is located in a sew-in plastic cuff, is wound to form a ring (1) and whose wound-in end (11) can be displaced in the circumferential direction by means of an adjustment device (15, 16) fixed on the spring band (2) in order to change the diameter. The adjustment device (15, 16) is actuated by an adjustment instrument (27) whose front end (28, 36) can engage in the introduction opening (24). The front end (28) of the adjustment instrument (27) is connected so as to be fixed against rotation to an actuation handle (31) via a wire (30) resembling the shaft of a screwdriver. At the end of the adjusting operation the adjustment instrument (27) can be removed from the introduction opening (24) of the adjustment device (15, 16) by compression of a spreading body (32). <IMAGE>
