HF diathermic cutting instrument - has wire anchored in tip of endoscope tube, pulled to bend over tip
Abstract
Abstract A high frequency diathermal cutting tool has a endoscope tube (14) made of plastics material. Down the middle runs a wire (11111) connected at the operating end with a piston which is moved inside the housing by pulling on a ring mounted at the end. This wire is looped around a hollow metal plug (15) mounted inside the tip of the tube, which is then sealed in by a domed top (23). The wire is looped around the plug, so that it is anchored inside the tip,. The wire then passes outside the tube through a hole (19) below the plug, then enters the tube again through another hole further back. By pulling the operating ring, the wire down the middle is tensioned, and the end of the tube is bent over while in position ready for cutting.
