Abstract

Abstract A coupling, especially for connecting a wire (1) to a spring (5), e.g. in a catheter guide, consists of a curved conical tip (2) on one end of the wire. This is made with a spiral groove (4) to enable it to screw into the end of the spring. The spiral groove is made in the form of a thread with approximately the same pitch as the wire spirals. The broadest part of the tip is of slightly greater diameter than the inside of the spring, and the remaining portions slightly smaller. ADVANTAGE - Design simplicity and security.
