Antioxidation protection for a carbon-based material
Abstract
Abstract The invention relates to a method for applying protection coatings on materials and carbon-based articles and describes a process for obtaining refractory antioxidant coatings on carbon-based materials and articles, said process being carried out in an oxidizing environment at temperatures up to 2 000 DEG C in thermal cycling and high speed gas stream conditions. The process comprises heat treatment of the surface to be protected in silicon vapors, and it is characterized in that, before said silicon vapor treatment, the surface to be protected is covered with a layer composed of a powder HfB2 + C filler and a binder based on carboxymethylcellulose, followed by drying in normal conditions until it is completely dry.
