Abstract

Abstract A filtration unit has a specimen vessel (12), a filtrate vessel (14), and, if necessary, a filter body (16) integral with the filtrate vessel. For filtration, the specimen vessel (12) and filter body (16) can be connected to the filtrate vessel (14). The filtrate vessel is provided with a sealing membrane (30) which is punctured by an insertion cannula (26) when the specimen vessel (12) and the filtrate vessel (14) are connected. The puncture site recloses after removal of the cannula (26). In this way, hermetic sealing of the filtrate chamber (32) is achieved.
