Method for measuring atomic spectra
Abstract
Abstract In order to remedy the compensation problem of the background absorption in absorption spectroscopy or atomic fluorescent spectroscopy, the frequency of a measurement light beam sent through a test chamber is modulated by using the Doppler effect. To this effect, devices arranged on the ray path of the light beam (12) generate a modification ratio of the optical path travelled by the light beam (12) between two points of said ray path. Several construction solutions are possible to obtain this effect. The optical path may be periodically modified by moving mirrors, or it is possible to arrange on the ray path a crystal (132) of which the refraction index may be periodically modified by applying a voltage to magneto resistors (134 and 146).
