Abstract Translated from English Technique et dispositif permettant l'interruption d'un ecoulement de sang au travers d'une ouverture non voulue dans un vaisseau sanguin important afin de faciliter la fermeture chirurgicale de l'ouverture. Le dispositif utilise pour appliquer cette technique comprend un catheter (10) possedant deux ballons (30A et 30B) separes axialement l'un de l'autre (comme en 32) et gonfles au travers de l'orifice (14). Le catheter (10) est insere dans un vaisseau sanguin (V) et positionne de maniere que les ballons (30A, 30B) sont situes de chaque cote de l'ouverture (W) ou ils sont gonfles, interrompant ainsi l'ecoulement. The device used to apply this technique comprises a catheter (10) having two balloons (30A and 30B) axially separated from each other (as at 32) and inflated through the orifice (14). The catheter (10) is inserted into a blood vessel (V) and positioned so that the balloons (30A, 30B) are located on either side of the opening (W) where they are inflated, thereby interrupting flow.
