Abstract

Abstract A rapid exchange catheter having a control valve spaced proximal the distal tip of the catheter. The control valve directing a guidewire out of the lumen catheter through an opening in the side wall of the catheter while allowing passage of a vaso-occlusive device through the lumen of the catheter while preventing the vaso-occlusive device from exiting through the opening.
