Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim 120 words
A needle unit comprising a hollow needle, a hub and a stylet, said hollow needle comprising a lumen, said hollow needle being attached to said hub, said hub comprising a distal end, a proximal end, and a chamber, said needle being attached to said hub at said distal end of said hub, said proximal end comprising an aperture, said stylet having a distal end and a shaft, said distal end of said stylet being broader than said aperture, said aperture comprising cross-sectional dimensions that permit the passage of said shaft, and that prevent the passage of said distal end of said stylet, and that provide a sufficiently snug fit with said stylet to limit leakage of fluid through said aperature.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 120 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 15 words
The needle unit of claim 1 wherein said needle is permanently attached to said hub.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 13 words
The needle unit of claim 1 wherein said stylet is a cutting stylet.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 19 words
The needle unit of claim 1 wherein said stylet comprises a recess and said needle is a cutting needle.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 22 words
The needle unit of claim 1 wherein said hub further comprises at least one port, each said port communicating with said chamber.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 24 words
The needle unit of claim 1 wherein said stylet is tapered from the distal end of said sylet to the shaft of said stylet.
