Claim 1
Independent Claim
166 words
Cam adjusting device for furniture fittings, comprising first and second elements slidable reciprocally relative to each other, and a cam pivtoally connected to the first element by means of a pivot for rotating the cam around an axis to react a lateral surface on said cam against a bearing surface on the second element, upon rotation of the cam around the axis thereby achieving sliding adjustment of the reciprocal positions of the first and second elements, characterized by the fact that, for any angular position of the cam around said axis of rotation, the centre of rotation of the cam is on a line coincident with or parallel to a straight line passing through the point of contact of said lateral surface of the cam with said bearing surface on the second element, said straight line being inclined at an angle φ to a line perpendicular to the point of tangency between said lateral surface on said cam and said bearing surface on said second element.

Claim 3
Dependent Claim
52 words
Device as claimed in claim 1, characterized by the fact that the centre of rotation of said cam is no further than r*fp*cosφ from said straight line, with r being identical to the radius of the pivot and fp being identical to the coefficient of friction between the pivot and its housing.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
34 words
Device as claimed in claim 1, characterized by the fact that the centre of rotation is no further than r*senφ from said straight line, with r being identical to the radius of the pivot.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
57 words
Device as claimed in claim 1, characterized by the fact that the bearing surface forms part of a housing to laterally receive the cam which comprises a second surface of contact with the cam, opposite the first surface, said first and second surfaces being parallel with each other in the respective points of contact with the cam.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
41 words
Device as claimed in claim 3, characterized by the fact that, for any angle of rotation of the cam, the point on the surface of the pivot which is furthermost from the bearing surface lies substantially close to said straight line.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
92 words
Device as claimed in claim 1, characterized by the fact that the cam is defined by an envelope of straight lines spaced apart from the axis of rotation of the cam by a distance Dn=Dn-1*αp*tanα, with Dn identical to the distance between axis of rotation and nth straight line, Dn-1 identical to the distance between straight line preceding the nth straight line and axis, αP identical to the angle between the straight line n and the straight line n-1, α being an angle smaller or identical to the angle of friction φ.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
