Abstract
Abstract In a wire EDM a workpiece holder has a fluid tight chuck unit connected to a rotation shaft for rotational movement while supporting the workpiece during a machining operation. A cover member and a seal between the cover member and a wall of the machining bath or tank are used to prevent leakage of the machining liquid. A drive system rotates the shaft under the control of a CPU with a rotation speed detector and a rotation angle detector providing feedback information. Optionally the rotational shaft can extend obliquely into the bath.
