Abstract
Abstract Profiled bead and recess fasteners have mating, complementary parts. One part has a bead which engages in a recess in the other. When engaged, there is resistance to separation under tension forces. The recess has an entrance for the bead which is smaller in section than the bead but which is adjustable by local deformation to pass the bead by flexure of one side of the recess by the bead which comes out of contact with the other side. The local deformation can be produced by finger pressure and so the fastener can be operated without the usual slider, although a slider can be provided for some purposes.
