Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 21
Claim 1
Independent Claim 89 words
A pharmaceutical composition for administration to human beings for the treatment of immediate hypersensitivity against an allergen, said composition consisting essentially of: an immune complex of the allergen and a purified human-derived antibody specific thereto, said allergen being selected from a specific subclass of antigen that can trigger immediate hypersensitivity that is mediated by IgE antibody and said antibody being present in a molar excess, with respect to the allergen, of at least about 3 to about 500; and a physiologically acceptable carrier or diluent of approximately neutral pH.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 89 words
A pharmaceutical composition for administration to human beings for the treatment of immediate hypersensitivity against an allergen, said composition consisting essentially of: an immune complex of the allergen and a purified human-derived antibody specific thereto, said allergen being selected from a specific subclass of antigen that can trigger immediate hypersensitivity that is mediated by IgE antibody and said antibody being present in a molar excess, with respect to the allergen, of at least about 3 to about 500; and a physiologically acceptable carrier or diluent of approximately neutral pH.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 28 words
A composition according to claim 1, wherein the amount of antibody is such that, when the composition is administered, there is no significant allergic effect by the allergen.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 20 words
A composition according to claim 1, wherein said carrier is a liquid and said composition is in sterile injectable form.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 11 words
A composition according to claim 3, wherein the liquid is saline.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 34 words
A composition according to claim 1, which is in the form of an aerosol, enteric capsules or viscous liquid to be administered in the form of drops to nasal, bronchial, lacrimal or gastrointestinal mucosae.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 27 words
A composition according to claim 1, for administration to a patient suffering immediated hypersensitivity to the allergen, wherein the said antibody has been derived from the patient.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 15 words
A composition according to claim 1, which comprises two or more allergens and antibodies thereto.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 9 words
A composition according to claim 1, in lyophilized form.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 24 words
A composition according to claim 1, wherein said allergen is present in a range of from about 10 -10 g. to 10 -9 g.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 15 words
A composition according to claim 1, wherein said antibody is an F(ab') 2 antibody fragment.
Claim 12
Independent Claim 45 words
A method of reducing the immediate hypersensitivity of an animal to an allergen, wherein the animal is subjected to a desensitization treatment in which the allergen is repeatedly administered to the animal, comprising the step of administering the allergen in admixture with antibody specific thereto.
Claim 13
Independent Claim 45 words
A method of reducing the immediate hypersensitivity of an animal to an allergen, wherein the animal is subjected to a desensitization treatment in which the allergen is repeatedly administered to the animal, comprising the step of administering the allergen in admixture with antibody specific thereto.
Claim 14
Independent Claim 34 words
A method of administering an allergen to an animal which has an immediate hypersensitivity thereto, which comprises first mixing the allergen with an antibody specific thereto, and then administering the mixture to the animal.
Claim 15
Independent Claim 34 words
A method of administering an allergen to an animal which has an immediate hypersensitivity thereto, which comprises first mixing the allergen with an antibody specific thereto, and then administering the mixture to the animal.
Claim 16
Dependent Claim 28 words
A method according to claim 11, wherein the amount of antibody is such that, when the composition is administered, there is no significant allergic effect by the allergen.
Claim 17
Dependent Claim 22 words
A method according to claim 11, wherein the molar amount of antibody is at least three times the molar amount of allergen.
Claim 18
Dependent Claim 17 words
A method according to claim 11, further comprising the step of deriving the antibody from the animal.
Claim 19
Dependent Claim 19 words
A method according to claim 11, wherein said step of administering comprises injecting a mixture of allergen and antibody.
Claim 20
Dependent Claim 34 words
A method according to claim 11, wherein said step of administering comprises administering a mixture of said allergen and antibody in the form of an aerosol, enteric capsule or drops of a viscous liquid.
Claim 21
Dependent Claim 25 words
A method according to claim 11, wherein said animal is human and said method further comprises the step of deriving said antibody from human serum.
