Abstract

Abstract A method for decontaminating blood uses an adsorber prepared by forming a porous membrane containing an adsorbent in the form of powder or fine particles on a support is suitable for removing harmful soluble substances contained in blood. The adsorber has a high rate of adsorbtion, and does not readily shed the fine particles of the adsorbent material. In order to attain these features, it is necessary to set the thickness of the porous membrane within a specified range.
