Abstract

Abstract The rotor assembly of an electric motor is connected to a hub on the shaft by torsionally flexible radial spokes. A plate extends radially from the hub, with a surface facing the rotor assembly, and a vibration-damping element contacts the plate between that surface and the rotor assembly.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 13
Claim 1
Independent Claim 75 words
An electric motor comprising a stator, a motor shaft having a hub, a rotor assembly mounted about said shaft, and a plurality of radially extending torsionally flexible spokes interconnecting said hub and said rotor assembly, characterized by comprising a rigid plate extending radially from and rigidly secured to the hub, and having a surface which extends adjacent to and facing the rotor assembly, and a vibration-damping element clamped between the plate and the rotor assembly.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 75 words
An electric motor comprising a stator, a motor shaft having a hub, a rotor assembly mounted about said shaft, and a plurality of radially extending torsionally flexible spokes interconnecting said hub and said rotor assembly, characterized by comprising a rigid plate extending radially from and rigidly secured to the hub, and having a surface which extends adjacent to and facing the rotor assembly, and a vibration-damping element clamped between the plate and the rotor assembly.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 25 words
A motor as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that said plate includes a plurality of axially extending projections which bear on the vibration-damping element.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 19 words
A motor as claimed in claim 2, characterized in that said vibration-damping element is formed as a circular band.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 19 words
A motor as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that said vibration-damping element is formed as a circular band.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 132 words
An electric motor comprising a stator, a motor shaft having a hub, a rotor assembly mounted about said shaft, and a plurality of radially extending torsionally flexible spokes interconnecting said hub and said rotor assembly, characterized by comprising a rigid plate extending radially from and rigidly secured to the hub, and having a surface which extends adjacent to and facing the rotor assembly, and a plastic rotor-attaching element, comprising a central portion mounted on the hub adjoining said plate, a plurality of torsionally resilient spokes extending radially from said central portion, and an outer circumferential portion adjoining said surface, connected to said central portion by said spokes, and a vibration-damping element held against said surface adjacent said rotor assembly for damping torsional vibration of the rotor assembly with respect to the plate.
Claim 7
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 26 words
A motor as claimed in claim 5, characterized in that said element is a body of deformable material clamped between the rotor assembly and said surface.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 16 words
A motor as claimed in claim 6, characterized in that said body is an annular band.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 29 words
A motor as claimed in claim 5, characterized in that said element is an annular band of deformable material disposed about and in contact with said outer circumferential portion.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 22 words
A motor as claimed in claim 8, characterized in that said annular band is clamped between said surface and said rotor assembly.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 37 words
A motor as claimed in claim 9, characterized by comprising a plurality of axially extending projections connected to one of said plate and said rotor assembly, said projections bearing against an outer circumferential surface of the band.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 38 words
A motor as claimed in claim 5, characterized in that said vibration-damping element is an annular band, and said plate comprises a plurality of axially extending projections arranged to bear against an outer circumferential surface of said band.
