Abstract

Abstract This invention provides a method of treatment of infectious disease organisms comprising introducing minute particles into the interior of infectious cells. These particles possess ferromagnetic, paramagnetic or diamagnetic properties. After being localized intracellularly, these particles are inductively heated by application of an alternating electromagnetic field. The inductive heating is continued for a period of time sufficient to bring about an intracellular temperature rise to a minimum necessary to kill the infectious organism.
