Abstract

Abstract A display device for a magnetic tape recording and/or reproducing apparatus, comprises a pulse generating circuit for generating a pulse signal having a frequency which is in accordance with a rotational speed of a capstan which drives a magnetic tape to travel in a state where the magnetic tape is pinched between the capstan and a pinch roller, a counter for counting the pulse signal from the pulse generating circuit, and an indicator for displaying a counted result in the counter. The counter counts the pulse signal from the pulse generating circuit so as to obtain a counted result which would result in a real-time display on the indicator. The indicator displays in real-time, a tape travel quantity of the magnetic tape which is driven to travel by the capstan.
