Claim 1
Independent Claim 42 words
A medical container stopper for hermetically sealing an opening of a rigid medical container, comprising an injection-moldable polymeric material containing a blend of 30 to 90% by weight of a butyl-based rubber and 70 to 10% by weight of a thermoplastic elastomer.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 42 words
A medical container stopper for hermetically sealing an opening of a rigid medical container, comprising an injection-moldable polymeric material containing a blend of 30 to 90% by weight of a butyl-based rubber and 70 to 10% by weight of a thermoplastic elastomer.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 29 words
A stopper according to claim 1, wherein the butyl-based rubber is selected from the group consisting of polyisobutylene, isobutylene-isoprene rubber, partially crosslinked isobutylene-isoprene rubber, and a halogenated isobutylene-isoprene rubber.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 28 words
A stopper according to claim 2, wherein the thermoplastic elastomer is selected from the group consisting of a polyester elastomer, a styrene-based elastomer, 1,2-polybutadiene, and a polyolefin elastomer.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 24 words
A stopper according to claim 2, wherein the polymeric material contains no more than 30% by weight of an olefin-based polymer for improving moldability.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 34 words
A stopper according to claim 4, wherein the olefin-based polymer for improving moldability is selected from the group consisting of polypropylene, polyethylene, an ethylene-ethyl acrylate copolymer, liquid paraffin, wax and an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 29 words
A stopper according to claim 1, wherein the polymeric material contains not more than 80% of a filler based on a total weight of the filler and the mixture.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 23 words
A stopper according to claim 6, wherein the filler is selected from the group consisting of carbon black, clay, talc, and white carbon.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 25 words
A stopper according to any one of claims 1 to 7, wherein the stopper has a thin portion through which a cannula may be pierced.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 38 words
A stopper according to claim 8, comprising a sealing member formed within the thin portion so as to prevent formation of a gap between the stopper and the cannula upon piercing of the cannula through the thin portion.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 14 words
A stopper according to claim 9, wherein the sealing member comprises a styrene-based elastomer.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 23 words
A stopper according to claim 9, wherein the sealing member is formed by flowing liquid rubber in a recess in said thin portion.
