The single mode oritical fiber according to claim 1 wherein 5-10 mole % of germanium dioxide or 10-24 mole % of phosphor pentaoxide is used as an additive for increasing refractive index, and 1-2 mole % of fluorine is used as an additive for decreasing refractive index.
