Abstract
Abstract A method and apparatus for controlling ignition system spark timing where exhaust gas recirculation is employed. The value of spark advance is determined based upon engine operating parameters and exhaust gas recirculation rate is sensed. Correction means is provided which corrects the value of spark advance in accordance with the sensed value or actual valve of exhaust gas recirculation rate.
