Abstract

Abstract Single crystals based on stabilized zirconium dioxide or hafnium dioxide, wherein used as the stabilizer is scandium oxide or an oxide of one of the rare-earth elements. The content of components in a single crystal is as follows (mol.%): ______________________________________ zirconium dioxide or hafnium dioxide 70-95 stabilizer 30-5. ______________________________________ The single crystals of the present invention may also contain coloring agents in an amount of 0.01 to 5% of the single crystal weight.
