Abstract The circumcision instrument according to this invention comprises a base plate having a circular opening and provided with vertical bolts implanted around the circular opening, and a short flanged tube retained upon the base plate by inserting the bolts through the corresponding holes provided in the flange. According to this invention, circumcision is performed by inserting the penis through the circular opening and the tube, forcibly drawing the skin around the penis outwardly between the bottom of the tube and the base plate, until the glans penis is completely exposed, and then crushing the surplus skin by the bottom of the tube and cutting off the surplus skin around the crushed line. By crushing, the wound edges are temporarily coapted whereby there is no bleeding. After the operation, it is enough to cover the wound with a strip of cutgut or spongy gelatine. In a few days, the wound will be healed completely.
