Claim 4
Dependent Claim 69 words
The process consisting of partially hydrolyzing a (PNCl2)n linear polymer with a small amount of water in an inert solvent under basic conditions to form an (NPCl2-NP(OH)2)n copolymer in which the ratio of Cl:OH is >5:1 and then reacting the said copolymer with a slight excess of at least one alkali metal fluoroalkoxide, to form phosphonitrile polymers of claim 1 containing a small quantity of a reactive -OH moiety.
