Abstract The compound 1,4''-dihydroxy-3-n-pentyl-6,6,9-trimethyl-6a, 7,10,10a-tetrahydrodibenzo(b,d)pyran, which can be prepared by microbial transformation of 1-hydroxy-3-n-pentyl-6,6,9-trimethyl6a,7,10,10a-tetrahydrobidenzo (b,d)pyran. The compound is useful as an antidepressant agent.
